2025 AABIP Abstract Submissions
The American Association of Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology (AABIP) is calling for scientific abstract submission for its annual meeting to be held August 14 to 16, 2025 in Austin, TX. The premier conference for interventional pulmonologists, advanced bronchoscopists, pleural experts and other interested health care professionals aims to gather leading clinicians, scientists, and educators to exchange ideas and discuss research on all aspects of Interventional Pulmonology and Advanced Bronchoscopy. It also provides an ideal platform for all participants to present and discuss the latest technologies, research trends, as well as practice innovations to advance the field and better patient care.

1. Type Preference
There are 3 submission types: original research, case reports, procedure video reports.
- Type 1: Original research abstracts should include the following sections: Background, methods, results, conclusions, and references. They should not exceed 400 words (excluding title, affiliations, and references).
- Type 2: Case reports should include introduction, case description, conclusion, and references. They should not exceed 300 words (excluding title, affiliations, and references).“
- Type 3: Procedure video reports should include introduction, procedure description and conclusion. They should not exceed 300 words. Video submitted should be maximum 2 minutes long, MP4 file format, and preferable in HD (1080) resolution. There should be no audio or music overlay. The video should explain the procedure in enough detail with the use of text, arrows, highlights or other visual callouts, making the content fully self-explanatory. Video should be of high quality that is suitable for online publication. All video editing should be performed only by the author(s). Third party video editing assistance is not allowed. Procedural Video submissions will be presented in electronic format throughout the conference.

3. Things to Know Before Submitting
- Cost of Submission: Submitting an abstract/case report is free.
- Registration and Accommodations: Presenting authors must register themselves and attend the meeting in person (NO virtual attendance options). Registration, travel, and hotel assistance will not be provided unless contacted by the conference organizing committee.
- Publication Rules: Publication is contingent upon in-person presentation at the meeting. Presenting authors who have not accepted to present by the deadline provided in the invitation and have yet to reach out to us regarding any delay may have their submission(s) withdrawn from presentation and publication. Accepted submissions for AABIP 2025 cannot be published elsewhere before August 31, 2025.
- Presentation Limits: You may submit as many abstracts/case reports as you wish, but presenting authors will be limited to up to four (4) presentations.
- Patient Consent Policy (for case report or procedure videos): Though our submission portal does not have a field to upload a consent form, you should obtain the patient’s consent and abide by HIPAA policies. If the patient can no longer sign for consent but previously gave it verbally, you can write a letter stating so and have it signed by whoever received it.
- Extensions Policy: There will be no extensions to the submission deadline unless specified by the Program Organizing Committee.
- Authors Instructions: Ensure all authors have an existing AABIP account
- Search first; avoid adding a new person unless necessary
- Spell check when searching or adding a new person
- Enter names as “first name (given name)” and “last name (surname)”
- Personal emails are preferred as they do not change often or tend to filter our emails to spam
- It is not possible to add co-authors after the submission deadline
- Conflict of Interest (COI): The submitting author must disclose all COI or otherwise state that they have no COI before creating their first submission. This disclosure will be transferred to all submissions linked to the submitter. Automated COI emails will be sent to all co-authors after submitting; ensure all co-authors received and completed it before presentation.
- Content Permission: The submitting author will attest that all co-authors have granted consent for the material to be submitted for presentation and that the submitting author has been given the right by all co-authors to act on their behalf.
- Author/Co-author Acknowledgment: I hereby acknowledge and agree to have my information included in the AABIP database.
- No Duplicate Submissions: A submission may only be submitted once; the submission may not be submitted under multiple submission categories.
- Language: All submissions must be submitted in English.
- Incomplete data: No submission will be considered with deferred outcome data. If data are to be presented, they must appear in the original abstract submitted.
- Publication on the Journal of Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology: Accepted abstracts will be published in an online supplement of the Journal of Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology. Abstracts exceeding the word limit or formatted differently than as detailed above will be rejected. No more than 2 images and 1 table should be submitted.
4. Abstract Selection and Presentation
EVALUATION:
- Abstract submissions will be reviewed by the Abstracts Review Committee for acceptance.
- Abstract acceptance notifications will be sent to authors by email within 45 days after the submission deadline.
- The top three abstracts will be accepted for podium presentation.
SELECTED ABSTRACTS
- Selected abstracts will be displayed as a digital poster and presented in-person during the 2025 AABIP Annual Conference to be held August 14 to 16, 2025 in Austin, TX.
- Selected abstracts will also be published as an online supplement in the Journal of Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology (JOBIP).
- Abstract presenter(s) must be registered to attend the AABIP 2025 Annual Conference—more information to follow.
